These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CertStack mobile application ("App") operated by CertStack ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CertStack, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

CertStack is a mobile study application for CompTIA cybersecurity certification exam preparation, currently covering:

• CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701)
• CompTIA PenTest+ (PT0-003)
• CompTIA CySA+ (CS0-003)

The App provides practice questions, performance-based question simulations, spaced repetition study tools, AI-powered study assistance, and progress tracking.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Payments

4.1 Free Tier

CertStack offers a free tier with limited access to study features. Free users may access a subset of practice questions and limited practice exams across all three certifications.

4.2 Premium Subscription (CertStack Pro)

The premium subscription ("CertStack Pro") provides full access to all certifications, unlimited practice questions and exams, AI study chat, and advanced analytics. The subscription includes:

• A 7-day free trial with full premium access
• Monthly or annual recurring billing after the trial period
• Access to all current and future certifications added during your subscription

4.3 Billing and Cancellation

• All payments are processed through Google Play
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• You can cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play settings
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods, except as required by applicable law or Google Play policies
• If you cancel, you retain premium access until the end of the current paid period

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. You will be notified in advance of any price increases. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share, redistribute, or commercially exploit App content (questions, explanations, or study materials)
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to extract content from the App
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Circumvent subscription restrictions or access controls
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the App to cheat on actual CompTIA certification exams
• Upload malicious content or interfere with the App's operation
• Misuse the AI chat feature (e.g., generating harmful content, prompt injection)

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

All content in the App — including practice questions, explanations, study materials, UI design, and software code — is owned by CertStack and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use this content for personal study purposes only.

6.2 CompTIA Trademarks

CompTIA®, Security+®, PenTest+®, and CySA+® are registered trademarks of the Computing Technology Industry Association, Inc. CertStack is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CompTIA. All exam objectives referenced are based on publicly available CompTIA exam blueprints.

6.3 User-Generated Content

Any content you create within the App (custom flashcards, study notes) remains yours. By creating content within the App, you grant us a limited license to store and display it within your account.

7. AI Study Assistant

The App includes an AI-powered study assistant. Regarding this feature:

• AI responses are generated to assist with study and understanding of cybersecurity concepts
• AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies
• The AI assistant is not a substitute for official CompTIA study materials or professional instruction
• We do not guarantee that AI study assistance will result in passing any certification exam
• AI interactions may be logged for quality improvement but are not used to train AI models

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM:

• Any warranty that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Any warranty regarding the accuracy or completeness of study content
• Any guarantee of passing any CompTIA certification exam
• Any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose

CertStack is a supplementary study tool. Exam success depends on many factors including your overall preparation, experience, and the current exam version.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CERTSTACK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data or study progress
• Failure to pass a certification exam
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Unauthorized access to your account

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CertStack, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the App.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your access to the App will be revoked
• Your study data may be deleted after 30 days
• Any active subscription will not be automatically refunded (manage cancellation through Google Play)

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware or through binding arbitration at our election.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated Terms, you must stop using the App and delete your account.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
